Assistant Webmasters: Various
sections of this site have to be monitored
all of the time. If you have a spare hour or
two every day we have a place for you. We
also want to expand our work and need people
to work and publicize new areas.
Publicists: With
thousands visiting everyday you may wonder
why we need people to publicize the VASC.
Well first we have to keep up the meta
entries on all of the pages. Then we have to
search the search engines and make sure they
are checking the right pages and not old ones
that don't exist. Then we need to get out the
word to everyone that is a vet or a family
member that we are here. Not because of
numbers for numbers sake, but to insure vets
have the right information all of the time.
Area Experts: Are you an
expert in one or more areas of veterans and
military benefits. "Ask Sarge" gets
bigger everyday and we need people who know
the system to help others. It may be one
email request a day or 100 we never know. So
if you are an expert and can help let us
know.
On Site Counselors:
Everyday people write in who need not only
expert advice but assistance in getting to
the VA or assistance in calling or writing or
one of the many things involved with just
life itself. We need people living in the
area of the person needing help who meet
these requirements. Have a car, computer,
phone and a willingness to help and support.
There are advocates in all areas from the
various Veterans Service Organizations to
help people with expert advice but there are
few to help people get around or fill out the
paper work and a host of other details and
traveling around they have to do. You also
have to be a one person cheering section and
a rock of support for them while they fight
the system. We have only a few of these and
would like to have more.
Supporters: Yes we need
people to donate money. It takes a fair
amount to operate this site. As we grow it
takes more. Already people are having to wait
to download info packs and have pages come up
because we are limited by the small server we
are on. There are also mailings and more. We
also would like to have our own place to
operate from and our own direct hookup to the
Internet that will handle 100 people at a
time not the 25 we are limited to now. So if
you have an extra dollar or two or more.
